Closing lives in Settings → Account, at the bottom. It is one of the few things in Prompt Dock that eventually cannot be undone, so it is deliberately not one click.
What closing does
The moment you close, everything you published — prompts, skills, blog posts, challenges — stops being visible to anyone else. It is not deleted. Your account enters a 30-day recovery window, and signing back in during that window brings all of it back exactly as it was.
When the window ends, the account and its content are deleted permanently, along with the files you uploaded: avatars, prompt covers, blog images, media library uploads and skill packages. That part cannot be reversed by anyone, including us.
What has to be settled first
A few things stop an account closing, and every one of them exists because closing would strand somebody else or lose you money:
- Earnings you have not withdrawn. Withdraw what you are owed, or wait for the month's share to clear. If the balance is below the withdrawal minimum, email support and we will sort it out with you.
- A connected payout account. Disconnect it in Creator payouts first.
- A renewing plan. Cancel the renewal in Billing; you keep the plan until the period you have already paid for ends.
- Challenges you posted that are still running. Cancel them, or mark one fulfilled once you have chosen a solution.
- Solutions you submitted that nobody has answered yet. Withdraw them from the challenge.
Settings lists whichever of these apply to you, each with a link to the page that clears it. You do not have to guess.
Starting to close, without finishing
If something on that list will take a few days, use Start closing instead of waiting. It puts the account into a wind-down:
- Your work is hidden immediately, exactly as it would be if you had closed.
- You take on nothing new — no new challenges, no new solutions, no new payout account, no new subscription.
- Everything you need in order to finish still works: withdraw, cancel, settle, change your mind.
Nothing is deleted while you are winding down and no clock is running. When the last item is settled, Close it now appears.
Changing your mind
Before the account closes, Keep my account undoes the wind-down and everything comes straight back.
After it closes, sign in as normal within the 30 days and you land on a recovery screen showing the exact date the window ends. One button reactivates the account.
